Man's Opinion

The fear of man's opinion is a very dangerous snare to young people. Many a man or woman would now be a part of God's kingdom if it weren't for the opinion of others. The thought of others laughing, ridiculing, and teasing you can be very scary if man's opinion mattered.
Proverbs 29:25 says, "The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe." Man's opinion doesn't matter! What matters is that you trust in God and do what the Holy Spirit tells you; even if it sounds embarrassing. If your friends want to go create mischief, do not consent. (Proverbs 1:10)
Man's opinion has kept some from sinning because they are afraid of what people will think of them, but will you commit that same sin when people aren't looking? If so, you revere man's opinion more than God's. God is always watching what you do in public and private. Isaiah 51:12-13 says "...Who are you that you should be afraid of a man who will die, and of the son of man who will be made like grass? And you forget the Lord your Maker, who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth..."
