Last Friday, Saturday, and Sunday we went to volunteer at a camp called Barren Heights near Barren Lake, Kentucky. It is a retreat for disabled kids and their families. On Friday all the guests arrived at 6:30.
We had an ice cream social and played some games. Finally we got to bed at almost 11:00.
The next morning we had to get up at 6:00 to make breakfast, and at 11:00 we made lunch.
After lunch we went boating and tubing. It was a blast!
At the end of Saturday we threw water baloons at the dads!
On Sunday morning we all jumped in the golf cart and had church in the barn.
We saw God work in many ways this weekend. For instance, the boy in the tube with me was very, very shy. He would not even come to the ice cream social! On Saturday he was a different person. His grandmother said that she was very surprised that he came out of their cabin on Saturday!
That's neat, Chase. Sounds like a neat opportunity and a great experience. I'm thankful to see a place that I've only heard about before. Thanks for sharing!
